Why should I become a member?
The Daily English Show videos and transcripts are free for everyone to watch and use in classrooms. Producing the show takes considerable time and effort - it's currently a full time job for two people. So far we have covered a tiny portion of production costs with money raised from sponsorship and membership. The rest is covered by working other jobs. We aim to make tdes a financially sustainable non-profit project. You can help us by becoming a tdes member.
When did tdes membership start?
We started offering membership in December 2007. Read more about the history of tdes membership here.
What will tdes do with the money?
Most of what it takes to make tdes is time (lots and lots of time!) – but we also need equipment and one of our dreams is to travel with the show again. Our wish list for the day money starts growing on trees – or a great god comes from the sky – includes: Adobe Premiere Pro, an HD camera and a tdes world tour. Oh, and a sound-proof studio would be nice. And a new computer. And …
What do tdes members get?
The satisfaction of supporting an open educational resource. The opportunity to win giveaways – we give stuff away once a month or so. Stuff we’ve given away so far.
I can’t afford the membership, but I’d like to help. What can I do?
Thank you for asking. If you don't have the means to make a financial contribution, here are some other ways you can help us. Whatever you can do is much appreciated.
Can my business, organization or educational institution sponsor the show?
The Daily English Show is lucky to currently have two sponsors – Acadia University, Nova Scotia, Canada and Scott Adventure Sports, Niseko, Japan. In return for some financial support, they are featured on tdes from time to time as well as having links on our sites and naming in the show credits. This is a valuable arrangement for both parties – tdes gets interesting material for the show and the sponsors get promotion. We are now looking for more sponsorship from appropriate businesses, organizations or educational institutions. If you would like to support an open educational resource and promote your business or organization to a global online audience, please email Sarah:

Can I send you something to give away on the show?
Sure. If it’s appropriate, we’d be happy to give it away on the show. We’ll link to your site for the duration of the giveaway. Email Sarah:

Thank you very much to our members and everyone who has helped and supported us so far. Thanks to you the show continues to improve.
