The Daily English Show Equipment

 

For those that are interested, here is a list of the equipment we are using, or have used, to make The Daily English Show. KNF is in charge of choosing the equipment.

 


Camera

 

Digital Video Camera

Panasonic NV-GS70 * We use this camera to film the regular weekday shows in the studio. We've used this camera since tdes started in 2006.

 

SONY Handycam HDR-XR500V * Since July 2009 - not yet used on show

Digital Cameras

1 X Ricoh Caplio R5 (KNF chose this camera for the interval timer function, which we sometimes use)

2 X Sanyo Xacti DMX-CA65 - white, blue (These are waterproof - all mountain/river filming is now done with these cameras.)

We used to use: Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FX9 (We liked this camera, but it got some dust in it or something ... and the photos come out with spots.)

Umbrellas

2 x umbrellas - black outside, silver inside

When we are filming in the studio, we use two umbrellas, attached to tripods as reflectors. We usually  take the umbrellas and lights with us to do interviews in different locations.

 

Tripods

Plus: 3 x tripods that are too cheap to have names

When we are filming in the studio, we use three tripods - two for umbrellas, one for camera. Sometimes we use tripods when filming outside and sometimes we don't - (if it's not convenient or we can't be bothered).

Lights

Plus: pop filter screen and mic stand

Sarah uses this mic for reading the news, question answer, Friday Joke and other voice overs. (Used to use Logitech headphone mic).

We use the internal mic on the camera for everything else.

KNF says his life has improved since the new scanner arrived. It's a lot faster.
